The 7th International Tehran Sculpture Symposium will be held today in Tehran‘s Milad Tower.
The event, which is attended by sculptors, experts and artists, will examine the art of sculpting in four panels, Mehr News Agency reported.
Artists including Saeed Rafiee-Fard, Javad Hassanjani and Kianoosh Motaqedi will present papers in the first part of the conference. The second part will analyze the works presented at the symposium.
The symposium is held in two sections of main competition and student section, which will be judged by a panel of jury with two Iranian and a foreign member. The symposium includes three parts: Stone workshop, iron workshop and exhibition section.
The event organized by Tehran’s Beautification Organization is aimed at developing Iran’s contemporary sculpture art, promoting aesthetic view in the society, sharing experiences, information and skills on urban sculpturing among artists and informing citizens about different stages of artistic works development.
The jury of the symposium has selected works by 14 foreign artists from Russia, Belarus, Albania, Portugal, Italy, Serbia, Taiwan, Korea, Germany, Peru, Bulgaria, Greece and Romania to participate in the event. The symposium opened on September 23 and will continue until 16 October.
