VP: Iran welcomes French investment in tourism

Tehran, 9/21/2015, IRNA – Vice-President and Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Masoud Soltanifar said Iran is interested in French companies’ investment in hotel construction and training in hotel management.
Soltanifar made the remarks in a meeting with visiting French trade delegation here on Monday afternoon.
He welcomed French investors in the field of hotel construction and hotel management and added that France’s participation in building two hotels (Axis) in Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA) is beginning of cooperation between Tehran and Paris in tourism industry.

France Agriculture Minister Stephane Le Foll by referring to several thousand years of civilization of Iran and France said that Iran has plenty of historical sites and rich handicrafts.
Considering plenty of similarities between the two countries, he added, tourism will be expanded between Iran and France.

In addition to creating infra-structures, Iran needs training for restaurant and hotel management, which France can transfer its experiences in this field, Le Foll said.
Soltanifar welcomed participation and readiness of French delegation and said that Iranian and French businessmen should compile a document to be signed by both presidents during visit of President Hassan Rouhani to France.
